Edition Research: Illustrated Books and Portfolios
Edition-specific notes on illustrated books, print suites and portfolios represented in the Breething Books catalog. Compare issue statements, print processes, signatures and physical contents before comparing copies.
These pages are permanent references. Availability and condition belong to the individual item record; a reference page remains useful after that copy sells.

How to use these notes
Start with the publication date, publisher and issue statement. Separate original prints from reproductions, and handwritten signatures from printed or facsimile signatures. For portfolios, count compositions and physical sheets separately and record the text, wrappers and housing.
Catalog-based information is identified as such. Museum references provide comparisons; their descriptions do not certify a different copy. Unresolved counts and uncertain media remain explicitly identified.
