Revised and enlarged second edition of Micheline’s final major collection, specially bound in gilt-decorated black cloth and retaining the pictorial dust jacket. Illustrated throughout with photographs, artwork, correspondence, and ephemera documenting Micheline’s life within the Beat and San Francisco poetry circles.

A particularly desirable copy containing an original painting by Jack Micheline, mounted to the rear pastedown. Numbered “69” at the limitation statement—an intentionally or anomalously out-of-series copy from a stated edition of 67.

Signed at the limitation by editors Matt Gonzalez and Vince Silvaer. The front free endpaper bears a lengthy presentation inscription from Gonzalez to Allan Milkerit, the San Francisco bookseller and close friend of Micheline. Additional related ephemera is laid in.

Micheline completed the original version of Sixty-Seven Poems for Downtrodden Saints shortly before his death in 1998. This expanded posthumous edition brings together his poetry, visual art, photographs, letters, and material relating to the Beat movement. The combination of Micheline’s original painting and Gonzalez’s association inscription makes this a unique copy with notable San Francisco literary provenance.
