Elaborately produced Italian livre d’artiste presenting Guy de Maupassant’s account of Sicily, translated by Carlo Gliozzo and accompanied by notes from literary scholar Silvano Nigro.
Illustrated throughout with 38 color serigraphic compositions by Aldo Turiano, together with three separately issued, full-page original prints by Fabio Nicola Grosso—two color serigraphs and one etching. Each of the three original prints is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.
Printed in Catania by Orizzonti Bibliofilia Italiana and completed on November 23, 1993. The text and plates are arranged in loose signatures and sheets, as issued, within a gilt-decorated cloth portfolio secured by three ribbon ties. The original printing plates were destroyed following completion of the edition.
This is copy X/XC, from the separate edition of 90 copies numbered in Roman numerals. An additional 90 copies were issued in Arabic numerals, together with a small number of lettered and hors-commerce copies.

Illustrations: Thirty-eight color serigraphic illustrations by Aldo Turiano.
Original prints: Two color serigraphs and one etching by Fabio Nicola Grosso, each signed and numbered.
Format: Loose signatures and plates in a cloth portfolio with ribbon ties; 28.6 × 41.3 cm (11¼ × 16¼ inches).
Condition: Portfolio cloth slightly faded; text sheets with light wear along the edges. Very good overall.
